Major Hadath

A major hadath requires the washing of the whole body to cleanse oneself.

There are six major hadath that requires bathing the whole body:

• Discharge of semen
• Sexual intercourse
• Menstruation
• Post natal bleeding or nifas
• Childbirth
• Death

The way to wash the body is by letting water reach every part of the skin with mutlak water and with the intention to clean the body of the major hadath.
