Friday Prayers

The Friday prayers takes place on Fridays during zuhur. It consists of 2 rakaah.

This prayer must take place with a congregation of 40 or more people. Every man who is well must go to the Friday prayers. Those who choose not to go without a valid reason are committing a major sin. Before the start of the prayers, it is compulsory to have two khutbahs.

The rules for Friday prayers

The Friday prayer is a symbol of Islam’s supremacy. For this reason, the Friday prayer should take place in a mosque. Before going to the mosque, a person should bathe and wear clean clothes.

Upon arriving at the mosque, a person should perform tahiyatul masjid and then sit quietly or zikir or read the Quran. Do not talk or be noisy especially during the khutbah. The khutbah must be listened to carefully.
