AThey showed their opposition in many ways. They tried to stop Prophet Muhammad from preaching, they hurled insults to the Prophet, and they accused Prophet Muhammad for being a magician. Lastly they accused Prophet Muhammad as being of unsound mind. They placed thorned wood, faeces and filth in the Prophet’s path. They even threw faeces on Prophet Muhammad’s head while praying. Once someone tried to crush the Prophet’s head with a rock but Allah saved him.

ANo, some of the Prophet’s companions were threatened too. The family of Bilal bin Abi Rabah and the entire family of Umar bin Yasir were threatened. However they remained faithful and were patient in facing the challenges.
