The Sunnah Hai-at Acts

QWhat does Hai-at mean?

ASunnah Hai-at acts are commendable acts to perfect a prayer. If forgotten, one does not have to sujud sahwi.

QWhat are the Sunnah Hai-at acts?

AThere are many including:

To raise both hands to the shoulder while:

Reciting takbiratul ihram
While about to rukuk
While straightening up after rukuk
While standing after the first tahiyat

Placing the right hand over the left hand by holding the wrist, just below the chest but over the navel.
Reciting doa iftitah
Reciting, before Al-Fatihah:

أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ

Saying Amin! after Al-Fatihah.
Reciting a surah and verses from the Al-Quran after Al-Fatihah
Reciting this verse during rukuk (3 times):

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيْمِ وَ بِحَمْدِه ِ

Saying, while getting up from rukuk:

سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ

Saying, during iktidal:

رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ

Reciting this verse during sujud (3 times):

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى وَ بِحَمْدِهِ

Reciting this dua while sitting between two sujud:

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاجْبُرْنِي وارْفَعْنِي وَارْزُقْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَ عَافِنِي وَ اعْفُ عَنَّي

Reciting the selawat upon Prophet Ibrahim during the last tahiyat:

……..كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى اِبْرَٰهِيْمَ

Placing the palms on the thighs while sitting
Slightly clench the right hand with the pointer finger straight during tahiyat
Raising the pointer finger, until the end of the tahiyat, while reciting:

إِلاَّ الله

Reciting dua after the tahiyat
Giving the second salam
Looking right and left while giving the salam
Saying the takbir from one rukun to the other except for iktidal
Sit in the iftirash form (sitting on both feet) in all the sitting positions except for the last.
Sit in the tawaruk form during the last sitting position.
