The Principles of Prayers
QWhat does it mean by principles of prayers?
AIt means rukun or the basic requirements that must be met when we pray.
QWhat are the pillars of the prayer?
AThere are thirteen:
- Standing up for those who are able
- Reciting the niyyat
- Takbiratul ihram
- Reciting Al-Fatihah
- Rukuk and tumakninah or pausing
- Iktidal and pausing
- Sujud twice and pausing
- Sitting up between two sujud
- Sitting up
- Reciting the last tahiyat.
- Reciting the salawat during the last tahiyat
- Giving the first salam
- Following the correct sequence of all these acts and requirements of prayer.
